24 months back, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers experienced a tough defeat to the Texans on a last-second touchdown. During Monday’s matchup, Mayfield and his team flipped the script with a clutch decisive series.

Mayfield led an 11-play impressive drive that concluded with the running back diving into the pay dirt from close range with only mere seconds on the clock. The Bucs fought back to edge the opponents by a final of twenty to nineteen. This outcome stood in stark opposition to the teams’ last meeting in NRG Stadium back in the previous season, when CJ Stroud hit Dell for a last-second TD to seal a narrow triumph.

The Texans had registered the first score of the game when they grabbed an first-quarter edge on Collins’ long TD catch. That touchdown was set up when CJ hooked up with the back for a twenty-seven-yard gain on a quick toss the down earlier. The Bucs evened the game at seven all when Mayfield threw a 20-yard scoring pass to the receiver on their initial drive.

Emeka Egbuka hauled in a short touchdown pass with approximately ten minutes to go in the opening half to give the visitors up 14-10. The first-round pick, a newcomer, joined the sixth receiver since the league merger with multiple scoring grabs in his first two outings.

Houston was behind by four and hadn’t scored in the third or fourth quarter when Riley Dixon’s boot was stopped by the special teamer and the return unit pounced on the loose pigskin on the opposing 35 with just under seven minutes remaining. The unit failed to drive the ball and opted for Fairbairn’s fifty-three-yard field goal that cut the deficit to one point with approximately time remaining on the clock.

Houston end the veteran forced a loose ball and registered two sacks to bring him to one hundred and one point five in his decade-long NFL tenure.

The Buccaneers are now perfect for the fifth year in succession, the most current streak in the National Football League.
