Thomas Tuchel has chosen to retain the same Three Lions selection that secured victory against their previous opponents and delivered an impressive performance in Belgrade last month, leaving no room for the Real Madrid star and Phil Foden in his selection for the upcoming friendly against the Welsh side and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.

Although Phil Foden pushing for a return to the squad after rediscovering his form at Manchester City, and Jude Bellingham having made a comeback for his Spanish club following shoulder surgery, the head coach has decided against including two of the country's biggest offensive stars. Bellingham has started just a single time for his team since his return.

The England boss has found space for Bukayo Saka, who is fully recovered and has been reinstated in place of his unavailable club colleague the sidelined player. Jack Grealish has not received a recall.

He has discussed the centre-back's significance for England and has floated the idea of deploying him in the middle of the park.

No spot has been found for Adam Wharton, who was selected in the previous squad but pulled out injured and was replaced by the Milan player.

The manager stated: “It was only three weeks after the last camp and the last win, the latest display, so the consideration was why not select the identical squad in because they set the standard. Now it is about building routines out of it. We have regrettably two injuries at the moment with Tino and Madueke and we welcome of course Bukayo Saka in to replace Noni. Jarell Quansah was a late call-up last time; he will remain with the squad.”
